Chinese acupressure massage is a healing technique from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that involves applying firm but gentle pressure to specific points on the body to release tension, promote circulation, and balance the body's vital energy, or Qi. This practice stimulates the body's natural healing abilities, reduces stress, alleviates pain by releasing endorphins, and can be used to improve digestion and sleep.
A deep tissue massage involves a therapist applying slow, firm, and forceful pressure to release chronic muscle tension and break down adhesions in the deepest layers of muscle and connective tissue (fascia). While effective for chronic pain, injury recovery, and improving circulation and range of motion, it is not a purely relaxing experience and may cause some discomfort.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy involving gentle pressure on specific points of the feet, hands, and ears, which are believed to correspond to different organs and body parts. While research on its effectiveness is limited, proponents suggest reflexology may promote relaxation, relieve stress and pain, and improve well-being. It is not a substitute for conventional medical treatment but can be used alongside it to help manage symptoms like anxiety or nausea, particularly for conditions like cancer.
A massage chair in use Chair Massage is done in an ergonomically designed portable chair. Chair massage focuses on the head, neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands. Massage therapists are able to offer on-site massage to many environments because of the portability of the massage chair, and clients do not need to disrobe to receive a chair massage. Due to these two factors, chair massage is often performed in settings such as business offices, employee appreciation events, trade shows, conferences, and other corporate settings.
